Use Policy

The National Training Center will provide classrooms to other government agencies for non-commercial functions on a cost-recovery fee basis.

It is the Center's policy to charge a $50 fee for the use of the Center's commons area (commonly referred to as the lunch room) if a group wishes to use that room for continental breakfasts, lunches, catering, etc.  There is no food allowed in the classrooms.  The surcharge goes to providing extra carpet cleaning throughout the year, and to cover the costs of extra time provided by support staff.

Fees may be charged for additional technical computer set-up and service requested by the user that exceeds the normal services provided.

Classroom Features

Circular Stairs - Center of NTC Campus NTC is a small campus of three 3-story buildings. The three buildings are connected by patio-type decks with a circular staircase that provides access to each of the three floors.

Circular tables and cushioned chairs are located throughout the decks to accommodate gatherings of trainees. Trees, shrubs, and flowering plants located on the decks contribute to the comfortable ambience of the center.

The Center has 13 classrooms of various sizes, ranging from the Washington Room that can hold several hundred people, to small rooms that can accommodate 15 - 20 students. There are also 12 small rooms that can handle from 6 to 15 persons.

Classrooms are equipped with tables, chairs, flip-charts, white boards, and overhead projectors. There is also a presentation system that includes wireless microphones, drop-down projectors and screens, VCRs and equipment for the hearing impaired. Most equipment and room lighting, can be controlled from a touch- screen panel located in the presenters podium.

Satellite Dish NTC also has several satellite dishes that can be used to receive C-Band and Ku-Band signals, which in turn can be directed to any one (or any combination) of classrooms.

This makes it possible for speakers at distant locations to deliver information to an NTC classroom (or classrooms) without traveling to Phoenix.
