DESCRIPTION:
This on-line course consists of five modules.
The first module identifies the major differences among the Freedom of Information
Act, the Privacy Act and the Federal Records Act, and the general intent of these
laws. The second module provides
the basic requirements for collecting and creating information.
In the third module, you will be able to identify the major requirements for maintaining
records, data and sensitive information.
In the fourth module you will be able to identify what information you are required
to make public, and what information you can make public, and what information
you should not make public. Module
five will provide you with the basic knowledge to help you determine what information
can be disposed of, when you can dispose of it, and how you may dispose of it.
Upon completion of this course you will recognize your responsibilities as
a government employee for managing information responsibly during the portion
of the life cycle for which you have control of the information. TARGET
