Course: Introduction to Supervision

Target:  New BLM supervisors should complete this course within the first 6 months of appointment.

Goal:  New supervisors will gain or enhance skills and knowledge most needed by government supervisors.  This course fulfills the first 40 hours of required training for supervisors.

Objectives:  Participants will learn and apply basic sound supervisory practices to:

1. Managing a diverse workforce;
2. Managing employee performance;
3. EEO and grievance procedures and requirements; and
4. Personnel and training decision making.

Length:  5 days
