Local Perspectives

Most of the information contained in the Orientation: Employee Handbook refers to national or standardized information important to the employee.  Equally important are issues, policies, and practices that are locally driven or specific to your particular BLM location.

Orientation: Local Perspectives is designed to meet this need.  Many BLM offices put together their own locally focused orientation program to help new employees get acclimated to the local BLM organization and the issues affecting it.

The National Training Center's Leadership Excellence Program provides a guide for putting together this course.  The course was developed to be given at the state or local office level and should be taken within the first six to twelve months after starting your new job.
