Charles PreglerMr. Pregler is a founding member and Manager for the Partnership Series, a public-private network begun in 1995 based in Phoenix, Arizona, at the BLM National Training Center. The Partnership Series is a set of training courses and consulting services that all focus on the idea of community-based land stewardship and citizen empowerment. Under his leadership the Partnership Series has received accolades from multiple agencies, the Department of Interior, Office of the Secretary and citizens groups around the U.S. Community-based stewardship groups, collaborative relationships in land use planning efforts in multiple states and with federal agencies and citizen-based approaches to decisions and implementation have all occurred as a result of his group’s efforts. He was invited to showcase the Partnership Series at the 2005 White House Conference on Cooperative Conservation. Charles has 27 years with the Bureau of Land Management in Montana, Utah and Arizona. He grew up on a small farm in eastern Oklahoma and worked for 5 years with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. His cultural heritage includes a strong German and Cherokee Indian background with many generations of farmers and people living close to the land and with a respect for the environment. His formal education includes a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology from Oklahoma State and a M.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Arizona. He has been married 33 years to Janet; they and their three children live in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Personal interests include community-based ecosystem stewardship, biological diversity, hunting, computers, science fiction and Mexican food. Contact information:
