Participants will develop and share a view of their
own community which includes current issues, concerns, opportunities, and

Participants will develop strategies to recognize informal versus
formal systems, themes versus issues, and the components of productive
harmony.
Field Experience
Participants will use information gathered through community
observation to identify community places, people, and behaviors.
Reflections on Field Experience
Participants will identify the informal and formal networks in their
community and explore strategies to assess networks and use networks in
their management systems.
The Seven Cultural Descriptors
Participants will identify "7 Cultural Descriptions" as gathered from
field experience.
Integrated Resource Management
Participants will examine both the Discovery Process and Issue
Management and determine the role each can play in creating successes.
Taking it Home: Developing your own Issue
Management Plan
Participants will begin to develop an Issue Management Plan that will be
of use back in their home office and community to integrate community
and agency interests.
