The purpose of this training is to provide a detailed overview of the new Solar Programmatic Agreement that addresses how BLM will meet its obligations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act for future solar applications. This presentation is approximately one hour long.

This training was designed for BLM staff, managers, cultural and mineral program specialists, and tribal liaisons who work in the six solar states. After viewing the modules, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the intent of the Solar Programmatic Agreement
  • Recognize when to implement the Solar Programmatic Agreement
  • Understand the Section 106 Process under the Solar Programmatic Agreement, including consultation with State Historic Preservation Offices, theĀ  Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and tribes
  • Understand the process for handling discoveries, resolving disputes, and other requirements
