AIM Pollinator Supplemental Indicator (APSI) Training for AIM Crews

The Pollinator Supplementary Indicator is intended to identify valuable pollinator plant species and habitat by building upon Assessment, Inventory and Monitoring (AIM) plots and data. Data collected can be used to assess floral resource availability for pollinators, determine appropriate seed mixes, assess impacts of proposed actions on pollinators, track changes in floral phenology, document pollinator use of plants and plots visitation, and more. This protocol and datasheet can be used either in conjunction with the core AIM methods, to supplement stratified landscape-level AIM surveys, or to assess targeted sites independently from AIM. Advanced pollinator monitoring and ID skills are not required for this protocol. This webinar explains how to complete the AIM Pollinator Supplemental Indicator (APSI) datasheets as well as how to document pollinator observations in conjunction with completing AIM monitoring plots.
