National Recreation Training for Program Managers (2018)

This course was designed to cross-train state and national program leads from Bureau of Land Management’s National Conservation Lands and the Recreation and Visitor Services division on three major program areas: Recreation Permits and Fees; Travel and Transportation Management; and Planning for Recreation and Visitor Services. Participants acquired skills that are relevant to their program area and gain an understanding of how the processes and practices of each program impact one another. The class included opportunities for participants to share concerns, successes, and plans with instructors and other program leads. Participation in this course was intended to provide networking opportunities and to open doors of communication between programs and locations to improve bureau-wide consistency and idea sharing.
