Improving and Sustaining Tribal Relations (1870-06)

This course offers guidance on the implementation of BLM Manual MS 1780 “Tribal Relations” and its accompanying handbook H-1780-01 “Improving and Sustaining BLM-Tribal Relations.” Through examples of government-tribal partnerships and slide presentations, participants will learn their responsibilities for maintaining tribal relationships and understand the perspective of Indian tribes regarding consultation under the new guidance. The course has two slide presentations (intended for line managers or resource specialists) and three videos offering examples of government-tribal partnerships and on-going consultation efforts. The course will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
