Fundamentals for Managing the Cultural Heritage Program- Self Study (8100-01-SS)

This course offers a comprehensive overview of BLM’s Cultural Heritage Program and is divided into 5 modules covering a wide range of topics. Participants will gain a working knowledge of the historical and legal foundations of the program. Through instructional videos (including examples and case studies) you will learn about your responsibilities under Section 106 of the NHPA, and compliance with other laws such as NAGPRA and ARPA. It presents an introduction to data and collections management, and covers the budget cycle and reporting requirements.  Students will get an understanding of the legal basis for managing proactive projects and see examples on how to successfully complete them.
